How many of you use a journal? If the answer is no, that’s ok, I didn’t use one either until about 2 years ago. I didn’t think it was beneficial and I didn’t understand how it could help me reach my goals faster. I started off using a regular notebook and writing down how I was feeling. This sounds so basic, but at that time it was exactly what I needed.
My journaling has evolved and currently I use the Start today Journal from the Hollis Co. Everyday I list 5 things I am grateful for and 10 dreams I made happen. At the bottom it asks which goal I made happen first and I list the ONE thing I am going to work on. The key difference with this journal is I write the 10 dreams as if they have ALREADY happened. I didn’t realize the difference this would make in my head, but after writing the same 10 dreams over and over again for weeks I now believe those things. One of my dreams is, “I give more than I take.” This goes through my head all day everyday and now I live my life with that intention and it has humbled me and honored me in so many ways.
Not only has my mental attitude changed drastically, but I see my dreams coming to life. Another goal of mine is to have a platform to share my thoughts and motivation with other women and that is happening right here. I am part of a wonderful non-profit organization that I feel landed right into my lap, but it didn’t, it happened because I am living my life in such a way that others see me as motivational and inspiring. I never could have imagined how quickly my life would change once I shifted my focus to having a healthy mindset.
